I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Butterfly Guesthouse in Reykjavik. I stayed for a week while exploring the city and the location was perfect. Jon, the owner/manager, was incredibly helpful and had a great sense of humor. The house itself was lovely and welcoming, with a cozy atmosphere. The room was spacious and had a large desk/table, perfect for planning activities. The guesthouse was within walking distance of the main downtown area and the old harbor, where there were plenty of restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The value for money at Butterfly Guesthouse was exceptional, with comfortable rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. The location was perfect, close to the city center without the noise, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable.
The breakfast offerings could be improved by adding more variety.

The apartment with private bathroom and kitchen was a great choice. The facilities were excellent, including a perfect shower and the ability to cook our own food, which made our stay more affordable. The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable, with a comfy bed and a table and chairs to sit on. The location was also fantastic, with a short walk to the town and bus stops, and a shop conveniently located on the corner.
While the facilities and location were great, we were disappointed to not have the opportunity to meet the owner. We arrived late on Friday and were busy sightseeing on Saturday and Sunday, so we didn't have a chance to interact with him.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
